We aim to improve the lives of the pets in our community through outreach, rescue and education.

Our beginning

HART was the brainchild of 4 women living in the Hermitage suburb of Nashville. We saw a dire need for an organization who helped people struggling to provide food and basic care for their pets. We started to collect food, treats, toys, shelters and preventatives and distribute them to those in need. We expanded our services to include assistance with basic vet care such as spay/neuter and vaccinations as well as foster-based rescue.

Our mission

1. To provide loving foster homes for rescued animals while we search for their perfect home.

2. To reach out and help care for and rescue "community animals" such as feral cat colonies and abandoned dogs.

3. To educate our community about the benefits of spay/neuter and leash laws.

4. To provide food, supplies and other resources to those in need.

How can we help you?

I want to foster. | I want to adopt. | I want to volunteer.
