The answers to your most commonly asked questions.

We don't have a facility. We are 100 percent foster-based. This means we don't have a brick and mortar building or "business hours." We arrange meet-n-greets with our dogs at an agreeable time for the foster families,  adoption coordinators and potential adopters. We are typically very flexible. However, unless you meet one of our dogs at a PetSmart adoption event, you will need to fill out an application before a meeting can be arranged.

We are an adoption partner with PetSmart Charities and hold adoptions at the Hermitage location twice per month. Check our Facebook page or the events tab for upcoming events. 4642 Lebanon Pike, Hermitage, 37076.

Please read our PetFinder listings all the way through if you are interested in adoption. We are as open and honest about all of our dogs. We work in conjunction with our foster families, trainers and adoption coordinators to learn as much as we can about each dog. If you email us and don't get a response, it is most likely because the question(s) you asked were already answered in the listing. If you want to adopt an animal you see, please fill out an application HERE.

If an animal is listed on PetFinder, he/she is still available.

When you submit an application it automatically comes to our email. No further messages are necessary. We promise we will reach out to qualified adopters!

Foster families are what make us "go." We treat them like the saints that they are and we are available to them 24/7 regardless of time of day, holiday or workload. That's a promise. Fostering is one of the most rewarding experiences. If you want to join us as a foster, head HERE.

We currently don't transport dogs out of state for adoption. However we will adopt to out-of-state adopters if the adopter can arrange transport. Please note that out-of-state adoptions require an additional health certificate so it may take a little extra time to finalize an out-of-state adoption. Out-of-state adopters will be asked to submit to a home check done by a rescue or animal welfare organization in their area.

We do offer a pet pantry and pet assistance program for residents in the following ZIP codes: 37076, 37122, 37138 and 37214. We can help with food, basic vetting, provide resources, prevention, etc. Our ability to help is based on what is available at the time. We rely 100 percent on donations to support the pet pantry. Click HERE if you want to apply.

We usually do not accept owner surrenders. We pull almost exclusively from kill shelters in the Middle Tennessee area. However, to be considered, we will need the following info when you email us regarding the animal you wish to surrender. If all this info is not included, we can't respond: Age, breed or mix, weight, county and ZIP code where you live (we rarely take in owner surrenders from outside Hermitage/Mt. Juliet), why you wish to surrender the animal, whether the animal is spayed/neutered, whether the animal is up to date on shots, whether or not the animal is heartworm tested within the past year, whether the animal has any underlying behavioral or medical issues, whether the animal is on flea prevention, whether the animal is on heartworm prevention, how the animal is with kids, other dogs and cats (if you don't know, please indicate that), and a little about the animal's temperament (laid back, food aggressive, hyper, well-mannered, boisterous, etc). You will be asked to provide proof of vaccinations and vet records.

If you have a found an animal, please post to your area's lost & found page or alert the area shelter. There are steps that must be taken to find an owner, if even if seems unlikely that an owner will come forward. Also, if at all possible, get the found animal scanned for a microchip. Most pet stores and vets can do this at no charge! Your local lost & found group and/or shelter can help. Below is a list of lost & found resources for our area. If you are contacting us from outside the Hermitage/Wilson County area, we will provide resources for your area if we can.
